What we do to make the site easy to use for everyone.
Our commitment
We want the site to be easy to use for everyone, including people with visual, hearing or motor impairments. We follow the WCAG 2.1 Level AA guidelines.
What we have done
- text contrast of at least 5.46:1 (the standard is 4.5:1), in the dark theme too;
- the “Larger text” button (A+) in the header enlarges the text on the page;
- a dark theme for comfortable reading in the evening;
- the site can be used with a keyboard, and focus is always visible;
- a “Skip to content” link at the start of every page;
- text descriptions for images;
- animations are turned off if reduced motion is enabled on your system;
- the slider on the home page can be stopped with the pause button;
- tap targets of at least 48×48 pixels.
Known limitations
- some older photos may have incomplete text descriptions;
- subtitles for YouTube videos depend on the video’s author.
