On the eve of Mother’s Day, the VII Annual International Conference “The Role of Global Women’s Peace Network in Building Sustainable Peace” was held in Kiev hotel “Premier Palace”.
This year the conference topic was the role of women’s organizations in spreading the true values ​​of families and promoting intergovernmental cooperation for building sustainable peace.

The conference was attended by representatives of NGOs, government agencies, prominent artists, educators, scientists and guests from Europe and Japan.

– An important goal of public organizations is diplomacy and establishing harmonious relations between the different spheres of society, the state and the public, between countries, – said Women’s Federation for World Peace head of the board Mrs. Tetiana Kotseba. – Among all NGOs women’s organizations have a special place because they have to implement in their work the basic features of women and mothers – namely, the aspiration for harmony through love and sacrifice. Women know for sure that any misunderstanding loses meaning once true love starts to speak. Therefore, it is women who have to take the first step toward uniting the divided society, to restore unity and mutual understanding. That will form the basis for development and prosperity.

The conference participants and guests were greeted by Elena Goncharuk singing, the soloist of the National Opera of Ukraine, Dmitry Lutsenko Prize laureate.

Traditionally the event had the annual awards ceremony “Woman of the Year”.  “Woman journalist” award was received by Alla Maliyenko, executive secretary of the Kyiv National Union of Journalists of Ukraine. Vladimir Vovk, Head of the Department of Family Policy of the Family, Youth and Sports Department congratulated Alla Maliyenko and presented her a “Badge of Honor” on behalf of Kiev City State Administration.

Poet and teacher Zoya Solyaryk won in the category “Woman artist” and passionately presented her poems to the audience.

“Woman social worker” award was received by Olga Yurchenko, who was been working as a director of Zhytomyr city center of social services for families, children and youth since its establishing. Under her leadership, the Center has become one of the best not only in the region but also in Ukraine.

“Woman of the Year” award in “Woman-veteran” category was received by Ninel Tikhonova. When Nina was 16 years old, she went to the front line … Today this energetic and cheerful woman is 87!

“Woman – Olympic champion” award went to a talented biathlete Julia Jima, Champion of Olympic Games – 2014 in Sochi, silver medalist of the World Cup and winner of the World Cup on biathlon, two-times European champion in the relay, winner of the European Cup on biathlon. Julia is a true daughter of her father, Valentine Jima, Ukrainian biathlete, who took part in the Olympic Games in Lillehammer.

The awards were given by the International NGO “Women’s Federation for World Peace” head Mrs. Tetiana Kotseba and Deputy Head of the Department of social protection of families and children of the Ministry of Social Policy of Ukraine Mr. Fedor Fomin.

Honorary President of the WFWP in Austria Dr. Maria Rielh read out a welcome address by the President of the Women’s Federation for World Peace-International Mrs. Moon Yang Lan.
“Woman statesman” award was received by Tetiana Biliak, “Woman-teacher” – by director of Tetiiv regional Center of extracurricular education Mrs. Mariya Dimova.

 
Nina Kurbatska, head of the Public Association “Women of Obolon”. Noriko Fujiu name is already well-known in Ukraine. She is a head of the Japanese branch of the Ukraine’s Women’s Federation for World Peace. Mrs. Fujiu was giving awards to “Woman public figure” nominee. Nina Kurbatska has been heading the Public Association “Women of Obolon” for 15 years. The organization purpose is to protect the rights of women and children. State government highly appreciated the activities of Nina Ivanovna, awarding her the Order of Princess Olga of III degree, and Chairman of Kyiv City State Administration awarded Nina Ivanovna by the “Badge of Honor” and the honorary title “Kiev woman of the Year 2009”. Nina Kurbatska has two sons, five grandchildren and two great-granddaughters.

Tetiana Abramova,  founder of fashion house “Rito” was awarded as “Woman Entrepreneur”. She created this company in 1992 together with designer Elena Derevianko. In 2001 Tetiana Abramova became “Man of the Year” in the nomination “Leader of small and medium businesses.”

“If you want to talk, then there are capable man for that, but if you want to do something specific – there are women” –  said Ms. Tetiana.

Svitlana Vynohradenko, mother of 4 children, was met with applause as “Woman of the Year” in the category “Mother of many children”. Svitlana is an active and talented woman: she is a founder and chairman of the “International Organization for the preservation and development of the people,” doctor-rehabilitator and massage therapist, instructor of exercise, driving courses “How to become healthy with the help of your body,” the candidate of Psychological Science, Master of Sports ski racing. Svitlana Vynohradenko lives under the motto: “happiness, health, success – for all!”

Flowers and applause were given to women in all categories all seven conferences.

The conference also included the awarding of the winners of children’s works “My mom is the best.” This year the competition received more than 50 works. Andriy Lesiv, chief editor of “Family Times” newspaper presented diplomas and gifts to young winners. They were Mrs. Bezuglaya, Dasha Zabroda and Artyom Sorokin.

Participants and guests of the conference were pleased with the performances of Elena Goncharuk, soloist of the National Opera, winner of the art prize named after Dmitry Lutsenko “Autumn Gold”, exemplary children’s group “Ladonky” (director Svetlana Sadovenko) and the vocal quartet “Hetman”.
