“Woman. Peace. Security” working seminar went on April 27, 2016 in the conference hall of Kyiv City State Administration. The event was organized by the Kyiv City Service for family and children, Kyiv City Family Center and the Women’s Federation for World Peace.


The event was to discuss the realization of the National Action Plan to implement UNSCR 1325 “Women. Peace. Security ” until 2020, and the role of local authorities and NGOs in this process, the experience of other countries, namely the US, Japan and Europe, for that matter.

The event was opened by the welcoming speech of the Kyiv City Service for family and children director, Mr. Valeriy Tantsyura. Next, the participants were able to hear speeches of honored guests about the violation of women’s rights during anti-terrorist operation in Eastern Ukraine, the importance of adding women in conflict resolution and the formation of the unity of space.

Speakers included Mrs. Semchuk Nadiya, a head of Social Work and Ethics department of the Institute of modernization the education content of Ukraine, Mrs. Sulimova Svstlana, counsellor of the Vinnytsya Mayor on equal rights and opportunities for women and men, PhD in Public Administration, Mrs. Tetiana Kotseba, Women’s Federation for world peace-Ukraine head of the board.

An interesting experience of UN Security Council resolution, and gender challenges in their countries was shared by the foreign guests: Mrs. Angelica Selle, chairman of the Women’s Federation for World Peace-USA, Mrs. Omori Nobuko, chairman of the charity fund “One thousand cranes, vice-director of Sun Culture Center in Japan, Mrs. Tina Coombs, board member of the European Women’s Federation for World Peace (UK).
